Looking for a yearbook?  Tracking down yearbooks can be a challenge.  Here’s how we can help. 
Ancestry Library Edition
Free access at any Chicago Public Library location
Chicago Area Schools
Check with the school.  A collection of yearbooks may be kept in the school library or main office.          
The Chicago Public Schools’ Board of Education receives donated yearbooks.  Please contact them directly to make a research appointment, boearchive@cps.edu 773-553-1605.

Chicago Public Library
The library’s collection of Chicago area school yearbooks are housed in three archives, The Special Collections and Preservation Division at the Harold Washington Library Center, The Harsh Research Collection at the Woodson Regional Library, and The Northside Neighborhood History Collection at the Sulzer Regional Library.  The collection can be searched at www.chipublib.org.  Change the search criteria to “website” and use the search term “yearbook school.”

Newberry Library
The library has a large collection of yearbooks for area schools.  When searching the Newberry's catalog  use the subject headings "School yearbooks-Illinois-Chicago" and "High schools-Illinois-Chicago-Periodicals."  The Newberry's Chicago Ancestor's database contains a list of yearbooks held by the Newberry  https://bit.ly/3tafvab  The Library also has online access (in the building  only) to a large collection of digitized yearbooks through the Fold3 database. 
For Sale
There are many commercial websites who collect and sell yearbooks.

We are not aware of any local institution which sells historical Chicago area yearbooks
