If you are unable to locate a photograph you need through the Chicago Collections website, it’s possible you may find a relevant image by visiting one of our member institutions in person (the majority of our photographs have not been digitized). Contact us if you’re not sure which institution to contact. We can make a suggestion, and up to a point, do a cursory search on your behalf in order to determine if a visit is warranted. If you’re unable to visit in person, consider the option of hiring a freelance researcher, who could search for the photograph you need.
